Tractor maker John Deere has agreed to give its US customers the right to fix their own equipment. Previously, farmers were only allowed to use authorised parts and service facilities rather than cheaper independent repair options. According to Reuters report, on Nov. 27, 2023 a U.S. judge said Deere & Co. must face claims made by farmers that the OEM has "unlawfully conspired to restrict service for maintenance and repair."
